AI Platforms
Connecting an AI provider is what turns the AI Assistant on for your instance. It is a one-time setup done by an administrator — workspaces never hold credentials of their own.
On Mixpost Cloud the providers are already connected and these settings are managed for you; usage is metered as AI credits. What your team can do with AI is described under AI Assistant.
Available AI providers
| Provider | Description |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Industry-leading AI models including GPT-4o and GPT-4. |
| Anthropic | Claude models known for safety and nuanced responses. |
| Gemini | Google's AI models with strong multilingual capabilities. |
| Groq | Ultra-fast inference for supported open-source models. |
| Mistral | European AI provider with efficient, high-quality models. |
| xAI | Grok models by xAI. |
| DeepSeek | Cost-effective AI models with strong reasoning capabilities. |
| OpenRouter | One API key for models from many providers. |
| Ollama | Run open-source models locally on your own hardware. |
Only OpenAI and Gemini can also generate images — see Image generation.
How to Connect
Each provider requires a one-time setup in the Admin Console -> Services section. The general steps are:
- Obtain an API Key from your chosen provider (except Ollama, which requires an API URL).
- Navigate to Admin Console -> Services.
- Click on the provider you want to configure.
- Enter your credentials.
- Enable the Active toggle.
- Save the changes.
For detailed setup instructions, click on any provider in the table above.
Next
Connecting a provider only makes it available. Choose which one the instance actually uses, and set the models and global instructions, in AI Settings.
Good to Know
You can configure multiple AI providers at the same time. This allows the system administrator to switch between providers in the AI Settings at the instance level without needing to reconfigure credentials each time.
